Job description
About Tab
Tab powers travel & tourism businesses in more than 50 countries across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Our payment platform helps tourism businesses to save on payment costs and manage and take bookings more flexibly – while spending less time on admin and more time with their customers.
We work with hotels — from budget to boutique – and activity operators like dive schools, surf lodges and yoga retreats. Our initial focus is emerging destinations, in countries where payment and booking systems are a significant challenge. Our platform is trusted by thousands of tourism businesses around the world, and we've helped millions of travellers to pay in over 100 currencies.
We're working on ambitious plans to revolutionise the experience of independent travel – by helping travellers make the most of their precious time abroad, and giving local tourism operators the vital tools they need to run their business.
We move fast, so you'll start having a meaningful impact on the business in your first week as we execute our ambitious growth plan. You'll also be encouraged to contribute across all areas – we all help each other out.
We're backed by Y Combinator (the investors behind Airbnb, Dropbox and Stripe), and we're now cash-flow positive — which means we can focus on our long-term business goals rather than short-term fundraising metrics. This role is based in our central London office in Soho, with a WFH Wednesday. We have team lunches every Monday, and arrange regular drinks and team socials.
Role Overview
Our Growth team is directly responsible for increasing the number of businesses using our platform, and introducing new product lines that increase platform usage.
This role focuses on Growth Marketing, though you may also be working on projects related to Product-Led Growth. You’ll report to our Growth Team lead, and you’ll also have plenty of exposure to the other teams including Engineering, and Customer Success & Operations — as well as the CEO and COO.
Your main focus will be on acquiring new customers for our core Payments business — targeting small/medium independent tourism businesses around the world. You’ll also work on helping to scale our recently-launched Checkout product — which lets tourism businesses take bookings and payments directly on their website using an Intercom-style widget. You’ll help with high-touch onboarding for early users, as we build out the feature-set.
This role is well-suited to someone who is action-oriented and likes to be hands-on — with a flair for experimenting and rapidly testing new ideas. You should be numbers-driven, comfortable with Excel — and enjoy learning and working with new tools. Attention to detail is very important, along with having an eye for good visual design and the ability to write strong copy. A significant proportion of our businesses are in LATAM, so Spanish language skills are very helpful (though not required).
We're a relatively lean company, so you'll hit the ground running and we expect you to be able to work independently, and begin to take on responsibility from the first week!
After a successful couple of years in this role, you can expect opportunities to progress to running a part of our Growth Marketing or focusing on one of our product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving customer acquisition by running experiments and implementing growth initiatives across our key marketing channels (emails, paid ads, UGC, SEO, referrals, partnerships)
- Analysing and reporting on growth metrics
- Helping to get user feedback on Checkout and Payment product features, and to develop product-led solutions to customer problems
- Working closely with alpha/beta customer groups as we launch new features
- Work with some of our external partners (e.g. marketing agencies, designers and SAAS integration partners)
Job requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in Tech/Consulting/Banking/Startups or similar, with a very strong academic background
- Action-oriented — we’re looking for someone with a bias for action, who can work well in a startup environment. No slides needed.
- You’ll be naturally curious and want to get to the bottom of things
- You’ll also be a quick learner, and enjoy rapidly getting to grips with a new software tool or learning about a new area
- Highly organised — we move quickly and you’ll be working on different things in parallel, so you’ll be expected to multi-task and take responsibility for organising your work
- Very comfortable with numbers and logical by nature, with great attention to detail
- Empathy - the businesses we work with are all different sizes and all over the world, and the things that they worry about can vary enormously. Many of our customers speak English as a second or third language, so you’ll need to have the EQ to get to the heart of their questions (and language skills are a plus here)
- Business-level Spanish is very helpful (Latin America is a significant market for us)
- Right to work in the UK
Why this is a great role & place to work:

- Vibrant company culture: Enjoy team lunches every Monday and regular drinks and team socials, fostering a collaborative and fun work atmosphere.
- Entrepreneurial spirit: We encourage everyone to contribute across all areas of the business, giving you the chance to broaden your skill set and make a significant impact.
